Photonics Assembly and Packaging Engineer (or EIT)

The Position
Norcada is currently looking for a Photonics Assembly and Packaging Engineer (or Engineer in Training), to support our laser and photonics production work. We are seeking individuals with a BSc or MSc degree in Science or Engineering, with hands-on experience in assembly and packaging of laser photonics or micro-electro-mechanical devices. This is a full time and permanent position with medical and pension benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assembly and packaging of photonic devices to support regular production runs
· Custom packaging of photonic devices to support prototyping development
· Performance and QC/QA tests of packaged devices
· Assist with the creation and completion of production travelers and documentation
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment based on lean manufacturing principles
· Maintain high level professionalism and confidentiality required in a high-tech company
Qualification and Experience:
· A BSc or MSc degree in science or engineering
· General knowledge of semiconductor and photonic devices
· Manual dexterity and fine mechanical aptitude
· Hands-on skills with micro device or electronics assembly work
· Experience with semiconductor device packaging including die-attach and wirebonding
· Ability to learn new hardware and software quickly in a fast-paced high-tech environment
· LabVIEW and/or Python programming
· A team player with great communication and interpersonal skills.

Schedule:
· Monday to Friday (with occasional weekend/evening availability)
